Labadee has been off the cruise charts since March.
Multinational security mission
According to news reports, a multinational security mission led by Kenya is preparing to deploy in an effort to stabilize Haiti and stave off a humanitarian crisis.
Royal Caribbean's global security and intel team is closely monitoring the Haiti situation, a spokesman said, and the company will communicate updates with passengers directly.
A variety of ships on different itineraries previously visited Labadee, located on a peninsula in northern Haiti and open only to Royal Caribbean passengers and employees, with private security on site.
Alternative ports added when possible
On most cruises Labadee is being replaced with alternative ports when possible or, otherwise, a sea day. Among the substitute port calls have been Perfect Day at CocoCay, Falmouth (Jamaica), Grand Turk, Bimini and others.
The Royal Caribbean team is still maintaining the site.
