A-ROSA Donna is one of five ships now geared for the international market
Germany’s A-ROSA River Cruises has appointed DriveAway Holidays as its Australian representative.

A-ROSA, which was launched in Rostock in 2000, originally to serve P&O’s German cruise market, operates 10 river ships with itineraries along the Rhine, Danube, Rhone/Saone, Main and Moselle rivers.

In 2013 California-based David Morris International introduced the product to the North American market with three vessels dedicated to English-speaking passengers.

Today A-ROSA has five ships for the international market—Donna, Viva, Stella, Silva and Flora—with both English and German spoken on board.

Carrying between 174 and 242 passengers the all-inclusive European river ships feature gymnasiums and spas, complimentary bicycles for shore excursions and all but Viva have open-air swimming pools.

DriveAway Holidays’ Australian ceo, Chris Hamill, said A-ROSA will have a totally independent management and marketing team.

‘DriveAway’s long and successful history in car rental and leasing is the result of great service, great prices, great people and an exceptional product and we simply plan to replicate and inject these key elements into the A-ROSA product,’ Hamill said.

To celebrate its entry into the Australian marketplace, A-ROSA is offering special discounts on sailings between June and September.
