Bayley, Duffy, Madsen, Sasso comprise CSM Caribbean panel
A panel of new and seasoned leaders of key cruise lines operating in the Caribbean are scheduled to address the Caribbean state of the industry conference session at Cruise Shipping Miami.

Making his first appearance at the event is Drew Madsen, president and chief operating officer of Norwegian Cruise Line since October.

And Christine Duffy, who was a prominent CSM figure when she led Cruise Lines International Association, will be speaking for the first time at the event in her new role as Carnival Cruise Line president. She joined Carnival Feb. 1.

Michael Bayley, another CSM veteran speaker, will address the conference for the first time since he became president and ceo of Royal Caribbean International in December.

One of cruising's most seasoned leaders, Rick Sasso, president of MSC Cruises USA, rounds out the panel.

The session will look at the future of the Caribbean and how may be reshaped by infrastructure developments and the emergence of new destinations such as Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic, Harvest Caye in Belize and the possible opening of Cuba at some future point.

The cruise line leaders will also discuss how the world's No. 1 cruise region can remain competitive in an increasingly global business.

The Caribbean session is set for the morning of March 18 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Other regional state of the industry panels during the March 16-19 event focus on North and South America, Europe and Asia/Australia.
