Carnival Spirit skips a port to keep schedule

Carnival Spirit skips a port to keep schedule
Carnival Spirit, Carnival Cruise Lines’ resident ship in Australia currently operating a 12-day voyage to the South Pacific, canceled Wednesday’s call at Fiji’s Port Denarau and is proceeding to Suva where she will arrive on schedule Thursday.

The 88,500gt ship, which has already called at Noumea and Vanuatu’s Mystery Island, is due at Isle of Pines on Saturday, before returning to Sydney as planned on July 15.

As earlier reported, Carnival Spirit turned around to retrace her course when a crewman was reported missing between Vanuatu and Fiji.

As also reported, search and rescue operations have since been suspended and the ship was released from the search pattern.
