Carnival's EA Sports-branded bars to phase out over time

Carnival's EA Sports-branded bars to phase out over time
Carnival Cruise Line will be phasing out its EA Sports-branded bars over time. They're currently on half a dozen ships, including Carnival Liberty, Carnival Triumph, Carnival Glory, Carnival Conquest, Carnival Freedom and Carnival Sunshine.

'Going forward, any additional sports bars introduced on our ships will not be EA Sports-branded,' a Carnival spokesman told Seatrade Insider. 'While we will continue to feature sports bars, which are a popular feature on our ships, over time the EA brand will be phased out.'

Video game giant EA Sports was an original brand partner when Carnival unveiled the Fun Ship 2.0 product enhancement initiative in 2011. In the EA Sports Bars, patrons can play video games, watch live sports on big-screen displays and keep up with real-time scores 24/7 on the ticker.

In announcing Carnival Miracle's Fun Ship 2.0 retrofit scheduled for March, the line said the vessel will be getting a new sports bar with a real-time 24/7 sports ticker, but the venue will not be EA-branded.
