Charlottetown's busy 2015 includes many overnight ship calls
Prince Edward Island's Charlottetown Harbour Authority projects a jam-packed 2015 cruise season with a record 77 calls.

The season will open in May with nine calls, including three overnight stays. The first visitor, on May 8, will be Saint Laurent of Haimark Luxury Cruises. The same ship will wrap the season on Oct. 25, marking a slightly earlier ending than the 2014 calendar.

Pearl Sea Cruises' Pearl Mist is returning for a second season, with 10 calls. Six of these will be overnight stays.

Holland America Line remains the most frequent visitor, with almost 40 calls throughout the six-month season. Royal Caribbean, Princess, Norwegian and a number of other lines are also scheduled. Crystal Cruises makes its return with Crystal Symphony; the line last visited in 2009.

In total, the Charlottetown Harbour Authority expects 131,242 passengers and crew.

'Having this many different lines calling our Island brings a diverse group of passengers and crew, and gives us a wonderful opportunity to showcase all our Island has to offer,' said Stan MacPherson, chair of the board for Charlottetown Harbour Authority.
