Executives from Columbia Shipmanagement and Singhai Marine Services celebrate opening of the new office
Columbia Shipmanagement and Singhai Marine Services, who established a joint venture ship management company Columbia Shipmanagement (Shanghai) Co Ltd earlier this year, held an official opening of its new office in Shanghai this week.

The opening was attend by over 150 guests, including  the vice district mayor of the Shanghai Hongkou District Government, representative from Shanghai Transport and Port Authority and Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration, guests from the Shanghai maritime and shipping industries as well as numerous Chinese and international dignitaries and guests.

Columbia Shipmanagement which was established in 1978 and has grown to become one of the world’s largest independently owned ship management companies, managing a fleet of over 370 vessels and with ship management office in Cyprus, Germany, Athens, Singapore and now also in China via the joint venture with Singhai Marine Services which specializes in manning services in seafarers recruitment, training and supply in the Chinese market.

Columbia Shipmanagement through the new partnership continues to build on its already long relationship with China, which it has enjoyed since 1987 through 130 plus new ship building projects and supervision over the years.

The partnership further presents the opportunity to bring to the Chinese general shipping and cruise sectors, Columbia’s expertise in shipmanagement services and enhance the quality and competitiveness of Chinese shipping on an international level.
