Costa Deliziosa remains in Valencia as repairs continue
Costa Deliziosa remains in Valencia, Spain, as specialists work to fix the technical problem that caused a blackout lasting several hours Sunday night while the ship was at berth.

Costa Crociere offered passengers who were booked to join the ship in Civitavecchia on Tuesday alternatives including a refund of 50% on their cruise fare and the choice of joining Costa neoRiviera's May 22 cruise from Salerno or Costa Deliziosa's June 13 or July 18 sailings from Civitavecchia.

Passengers who were already in Rome/Civitavecchia also had the option of a two-night hotel stay in a four-star hotel or equivalent with full board.

Those who wish to cancel will get a full refund and a future cruise credit of the €250 per person (maximum €500 per cabin) to spend on a future cruise sailing before year's end.

The Costa neoRiviera cruise, 'Hidden Treasures of the Mediterranean,' sails round-trip Salerno, returning June 2.

Costa Deliziosa's June 13 and July 18 voyages, 13 days, visit destinations in Greece, Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria as well as Italy.

A Costa spokesman in Genoa told Seatrade Insider the cause of the Deliziosa technical issue is still under investigation.
