Costa's 2015/16 adds Iberocruceros ship, new Far East, Med routes

Costa's 2015/16 adds Iberocruceros ship, new Far East, Med routes
Coinciding with the 21st edition of its Champions of the Sea annual event involving 1,700 partner travel agents from Europe, Asia and Africa, Costa Cruises presented its 2015/16 brochure featuring itineraries from November 2014 to April 2016.

The programme covers 553 cruises, 261 destinations, 137 itineraries and 60 ports of embarkation around the world. The focus is on new itineraries in the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and Northern Europe, and on three new world cruises. There are also new cruises to the United Arab Emirates and Oman, South America and the Far East.

Iberocruceros' Grand Celebration is to join the brand as Costa Celebration in 2015 and will operate from Venice starting in April.

Costa Diadema, debuting in November, will sail year-round in the Mediterranean on seven-day cruises from Savona calling every week at Marseille, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Naples and La Spezia.

One section of the brochure is dedicated to the Costa neoCollection which sees Costa Classica joining the neoCollection fleet this December to be renamed Costa neoClassica. Together with Costa neoRomantica and Costa neoRiviera, the ship will offer cruises to places that are inaccessible to big ships, including new cruises in the Indian Ocean.

Other highlights in 2015/16 include Costa Mediterranea cruises in the Caribbean from Miami with calls in the Bahamas, the Antilles and Costa Maya in Mexico from December 2015 to March 2016, and four new itineraries in the Mediterranean.

Costa Fascinosa and Costa Magica will offer 12-day cruises in the western Mediterranean with a two-day stop in Casablanca. Starting in spring 2015 Costa Mediterranea will be deployed on seven-day cruises with an overnight stay in Trieste, visiting Split, Kotor, Kefalonia, Corfu and Dubrovnik. Costa Magica will operate in the Canary Islands with calls at Tenerife and Lanzarote.

In Northern Europe, Costa Luminosa will sail in the Baltic Sea with an overnight stay at St. Petersburg, while Costa Fortuna offers 10-day itineraries to Norway or two weeks including Iceland.

Costa plans three world voyages with departures in January and September 2015, and January 2016.
