Cunard readies for James Taylor performance on Queen Mary 2
Cunard is preparing for the return of Award-winning singer-songwriter James Taylor and his band during the August 27, 2014 transatlantic crossing from New York to Southampton.

The legendary artist, who recorded numerous hit songs such as ‘You’ve Got a Friend’ and ‘How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You) will appear aboard Queen Mary 2 hot on the heels of his successful summer tour.

Queen Mary 2 passengers will have this opportunity at two concerts in the ship’s Royal Court Theatre during the eight-day Crossing from New York to Southampton via Halifax, Nova Scotia.

James Taylor first performed on Queen Mary 2 in 2009, to standing-room-only audiences.

Taylor’s second visit builds on the long history of legendary entertainers who have graced Cunard decks over nearly 175 years. Elizabeth Taylor, Rita Hayworth, Cary Grant and Clark Gable frequently crossed the Atlantic on Cunard’s earlier Queens, Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth; and since Queen Mary 2’s debut 10 years ago, the flagship has welcomed musical notables such as jazz legend Dave Brubeck, Rod Stewart, Carly Simon and Lenny Kravitz.
