AIDA Home in Rostock's city centre
AIDA Cruises has started to move staff into its new ‘AIDA Home’ office in Rostock’s city centre.200 employees moved into the company’s new offices this week.

President, Michael Ungerer, used the opportunity to address his staff in a welcome speech. Another 200 employees will move in during the coming weeks with the office scheduled  to be completed and fully operational by end November.

The new offices will enable AIDA’s shoreside organisation to keep pace with the company’s expansion strategy: ‘More room, more light, more individuality – this is not only characteristic about the AIDAprima and our new generation of ships, it is also the concept we realised when building ‘AIDA Home’ for our staff,’ he commented.

The office block comprises two interlinked buildings one with floors the other with six. Design elements of the existing ‘Silo 4’ and ‘Silo 5’ AIDA office buildings as well as AIDA ships were integrated in the architecture of the complex.

A bright Theatrium foyer extending over two floors (also featuring onboard AIDA ships) is set up to link both buildings. The entire complex has been designed according to latest standards of energy efficiency, comprising geothermal energy, tele-heating, a hybrid facade, displacement ventilation, eefficient lighting as well as lighting control. The combination of these measures results in an energy saving of up to 60% compared to a conventional office block of the same size.
