Hurtigruten packs all products into 150-page US brochure

Hurtigruten packs all products into 150-page US brochure
Hurtigruten's North American office created a new 'all products' 2015 brochure that encompasses the Norwegian coastal voyage and explorer voyages to Iceland Greenland, Spitsbergen and Antarctica.

The 150-page brochure details pre- and post-cruise tours, hotel and flight add-ons, excursions, special voyages and the history of the cruise line. It also gives ample information about the history, culture and reasons to visit what the company describes as 'amazing' destinations.

Further, Hurtigruten made changes to its early-booking offers so travelers who plan early can take advantage of flexible seasonal pricing with longer lead times for up to 30% savings. Flights can be easily added from numerous North American gateways.

Hurtigruten's new food concept, 'Norway’s Coastal Kitchen,' is outlines. The country’s most celebrated food expert and host of the television series 'New Scandinavian Cooking,' chef Andreas Viestad, is helping the line develop authentic culinary offerings using local producers as partners.

And a new six-day voyage/land package, priced starting at $879 per person, double occupancy, seeks out the Northern Lights. This itinerary combines one night in Bergen or Tromsø, with a sailing between the two towns. Excursion options range from a late-night snowmobile safari to scaling Tromsø’s mountain in a cable car under the night sky.

New educational theme cruises include lectures and tours by expert speakers. Along Norway’s coast are 'Astronomy' and 'Voyage of the Vikings,' while the eight- or nine-day 'Norwegian Coast & Spitsbergen Adventure' combines Norway's coastal towns with the land of the polar bear and delves into the history of explorers and whalers who made the Arctic region home.

Hurtigruten is so expert in its polar water navigation that it has been chosen to train the pilots who escort ships through these waters.

New for the Greenland voyages are specially designed itineraries allowing for easier flights from the US and Canada, with included pre- or post-voyage night in Reykjavik, Iceland, and charter flight to/from Greenland. Also new is the pre-/post-cruise Reykjavik 'Experience Iceland' tour starting at $563 per person.

The brochure outlines offerings in Greenland, Iceland (including a circumnavigation) and Spitsbergen (with focuses on climate change or polar bears, a circumnavigation and multi-day land-based packages).

Hurtigruten offers several Antarctica itineraries, including the unusual 16-day 'Polar Circle Expedition' featuring a rarely visited region of the Antarctica Peninsula with shore excursions in very remote areas.
