Interbrands USA tasting to uncork Tommasi Family Estates wines
Interbrands USA and brand partner Tommasi Family Estates are hosting a wine tasting and dinner for South Florida cruise industry professionals. The Oct. 16 event in Miami will be led by Pierangelo Tommasi, owner and export director, Tommasi Family Estates.

Attendees will get to taste nine wines, many of them award-winners, from three Tommasi estates, according to Deborah Golden, vp sales and marketing for Interbrands USA.

The white wines will be Tommasi Le Rosse Pinot Grigio 2013 DOC, Tommasi Le Volpare Soave Classico 2013 DOC, Surani Arthemis Fiano 2013 Puglia IGT and Poggio Al Tufo Vermentino 2013 Toscana IGT.

The red wines include Surani Heracles Primitivo 2012 Puglia IGT, Poggio Al Tufo Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 Toscana IGT, Tommasi Rafael Valpolicella Classico Superiore 2012 DOC, Tommasi Ripasso Valpolicella Classico Superiore 2012 DOC and Tommasi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2010 DOCG.

'The US domestic market is very familiar with Tommasi's wines. Wine Spectator and Robert Parker's Wine Advocate frequently rate Tommasi wines in the 90s,' said Golden, a former consultant to the cruise industry.

Following the tasting, the cruise executives will dine at Tuyo, atop the Miami Culinary Institute. Invitees include vice presidents of hotel operations, food and beverage operations, purchasing and ships' chandlers who service cruise lines.

Interbrands Wines & Spirits is one of the leading privately owned premium wine and spirits distributors operating in Scandinavia, and one of the largest suppliers of wine and spirits to the ferry industry.

Established this year to supply the international cruise industry, Interbrands USA aims to become the preferred supplier to its cruise line partners, Golden said. The Tommasi Family Estates tasting will be the first of its kind Interbrands USA hosts for South Florida cruise professionals.

In addition to Tommasi Family Estates, Interbrands' portfolio includes Bottega (Italy), Carlsberg Breweries (Denmark), de Ladoucette (France), Clarendelle Haut Brion (France), La Motte (South Africa), Leopard's Leap (South Africa), Quinta de Maipo Wines from Concha y Toro Maycas del Limarí (Chile), Canepa (Chile), La Chamiza (Argentina), Regnard (France), Terrabianca (Italy) and Villa Huesgen (Germany).
