Nature photographer joins Hurtigruten's Greenland cruise
Hurtigruten has booked internationally renowned wildlife and environmental photographer Darren Perkell for an Arctic cruise along Greenland’s northern coastline, departing June 13.

On this special photography voyage Perkell will provide seminars, one-on-one instruction, workshops and location shoots.

The 12-day journey begins with chartered transfers from Iceland’s Reykjavik Airport to Kangerlussuaq, Greenland, 40 kilometers from the mammoth Greenland Ice Cap. From there, travelers will board Hurtigruten’s Fram to explore the northwestern coast. Sailing toward Disko Bay, passengers will have the opportunity to dogsled, hike and kayak, with daily landings (weather permitting) in the towns and villages that dot the coast.

The journey includes Sisimiut, Greenland’s second largest town, and Illorsuit, a fishing village of 90 inhabitants.

Perkell, a member of the International Cinematographers Guild, Nikon Professional Services and The Explorers Club, is a regular contributor to the monthly photographers salon at the School for Visual Arts in New York and has traveled exhaustively throughout the high Arctic.

This Greenland voyage is priced starting at $7,195 per person, double occupancy, a savings of more than $4,000 per passenger off regular fares.
