New Celebrity Galápagos tours, from dining with a family to a reforestation project

New Celebrity Galápagos tours, from dining with a family to a reforestation project
During its 10th year of operations in the Galápagos Islands, Celebrity Cruises is offering new land excursions that range from dining on authentic cuisine prepared by local residents to contributing to the protected islands by helping revive a native tree species.

The new dining experience, exclusive to Celebrity, takes place at a family’s farm in the highlands of Santa Cruz, while the Scalesia Reforestation Project involves participating in the goal to plant 5,000 endemic Scalesia trees, in cooperation with the Galápagos National Park.

Celebrity Xpedition's menu supports local growers, farmers and fishermen in the Galápagos and includes locally caught, sustainable fish and seafood, and organic vegetables and fruits.

Each Celebrity Xpedition passenger between now and December 2015 will receive a free coffee table book featuring fun, touching and inspiring stories and photos submitted via Facebook by past travelers who have explored the islands with Celebrity, along with information on the archipelago's environment and community. Vacationers whose stories were featured will receive a copy of the book, too.

Galápagos vacations range from seven to 15 nights aboard the 98-passenger Celebrity Xpedition. Certain packages include amenities such as adventure gear, chartered luxury air transfers and gourmet cuisine, in-stateroom dining and cocktails.
