Christian Compton - most recently served as senior director, corporate ship refit for Carnival Corp. & plc
Nordic Made appointed an experienced ship refit veteran as chief operating officer, responsible for overall operations. Christian Compton, most recently senior director, corporate ship refit for Carnival Corp. & plc, will be based at Nordic Made's operational headquarters in Fort Lauderdale.

Compton brings more than a decade of ship refit and construction experience. Early in his career he was part of major projects such as Royal Caribbean International's Enchantment of the Seas lengthening, the largest cruise vessel to be lengthened, and the diesel retrofit program for the Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises gas turbine fleets.

Compton also gained newbuild management experience from various fleets including Royal Caribbean's Oasis-class vessels.

At Carnival, he directed the Carnival Destiny conversion into Carnival Sunshine and helped establish the corporate office for fleet refits and technical initiatives.

Nordic Made chairman Tore Enger called Compton's appointment 'a strategic hire to secure the foundation for the continued growth of Nordic Made into an industry leader in the refit market.'

Nordic Made provides worldwide electricians, mechanics, pipe fitters and technicians for ships during dockings and while in service.

'Our most critical factor of success is our people, and by adding someone with Compton's experience to our team, it helps ensure that we maintain focus on being a reliable contractor, delivering high quality projects in a cost-efficient manner that our customers can count on,' Enger said.
