Norwegian hosts poker challenge with champion Joe Cada
Norwegian Cruise Line announced that World Series of Poker champion Joe Cada will join the line's first Norwegian Poker Challenge, taking place during Norwegian Epic's Nov. 9 cruise from Miami. A similar 2015 event is scheduled on Norwegian Getaway.

The Poker Challenge offers passengers the opportunity to win a share of the $200,000 guaranteed prize pool during a week-long tournament aboard Norwegian’s largest ship.

Players will have the chance to join cash games on a daily basis during the Poker Challenge, which will feature four tournament events. Along with a chance to win cash, participants will have the opportunity to go head-to-head with Cada, the youngest champion in the history of the tournament.

Cada won the series’ main event in 2009 when he was 21, beating 6,494 players. His current lifetime live winnings exceed $10m. During the week-long Norwegian tournament, Cada will host an exclusive meet and greet event that's open only to tournament entrants.

The entry fee is $1,100. Players must register for the main event with their travel agent or Norwegian’s casino team prior to sailing. Or, players can win their way into the tournament as Norwegian hosts satellite tournaments on every cruise (excluding Pride of America) through Sept. 30.

Fares for the Poker Challenge cruise on Nov. 9 start at $399 per person.

The Second Annual Norwegian Poker Challenge is scheduled for 2015 aboard Norwegian Getaway's Nov. 7 cruise from Miami.
