Norwegian opens S. America sales in return after 5-year gap

Norwegian Sun - will sail between Valparaíso and Buenos Aires, with repositioning cruises from California's San Diego and to San Francisco
Norwegian Cruise Line opened bookings for South America sailings on Norwegian Sun. The ship will return to the continent for the first time since 2010, and offer 14-day voyages between Valparaíso and Buenos Aires from Nov. 4, 2015, to March 26, 2016.

Ports include Chile's Puerto Montt, Puerto Chacabuco and Punta Arenas, Argentina's Ushuaia and Puerto Madryn, Stanley in the Falkland Islands and Montevideo, Uruguay. The program features scenic cruising of the Chilean Fjords, Strait of Magellan and around Cape Horn.

Fares start at $1199 per person.

Norwegian Sun will also offer several itineraries from the US West Coast in autumn 2015, including a four-day Pacific coastal jaunt from Vancouver on Sept. 28 and three 11-day Mexican Riviera cruises from San Diego.

A 17-day voyage to South America from San Diego on Nov. 4 includes an overnight at Callao (for Lima), Peru, with an optional overnight excursion to Machu Picchu. A 20-Day cruise from Valparaíso to San Francisco on April 9, 2016, also offers an optional overnight excursion to Machu Picchu.
