Onboard Media veteran headed to Carnival as vp entertainment

Carnival Cruise Lines appointed 27-year travel industry veteran Sarah Beth Reno, who has had a long association with Onboard Media in Miami Beach, as vp entertainment. She is responsible for all aspects of entertainment and programming for the 24-ship fleet, including production revues, live musical performances, comedy clubs, guest activities, cruise directors/entertainment staff and youth programs.

Reno will also focus on developing and bringing new entertainment concepts to the brand. She starts at Carnival on Oct. 6, reporting to Mark Tamis, svp guest operations.

Reno spent 19 years at Onboard Media, a leading provider of integrated media services to the global cruise and travel industries, including the past three years as president. Earlier roles at Onboard Media included vp operations, associate vp port shopping programs and operations manager.

Reno also had two years as director of recreation and social activities at The Plantation Club in Villa Rica, Ga.; three years at the Leiv Eiriksson Center, a non-profit organization offering social and educational programs for crew members employed on cruise and cargo ships using PortMiami; and four years as youth coordinator, cruise staff member and assistant cruise director at Norwegian Cruise Line.
