Ponant opens the bar for 2014/15 S. America, then fleetwide including Alaska in summer 2015
Compagnie du Ponant is offering a complimentary selection of soft drinks, mineral waters, alcohols, cocktails, champagnes and wines throughout the ship, cabin mini-bar included, for all of its eight South America cruises in 2014/15.

For the northern summer 2015, the open bar policy will be extended across the five-ship fleet, including Le Lyrial, joining in April next year. Alaska is a new destination for Ponant, complementing Arctic programs including the Russian Arctic, Spitsbergen, Norwegian Fjords, Iceland, Greenland and Canadian Arctic. Japan is charted in the autumn and also during spring's cherry blossom season.

Other offers in summer 2015 are a 50% discount on shipboard Wi-Fi and, for members of the Ponant Yacht Club, a free excursion, an Internet package, upgrade and various savings.

Before then, the 2014/15 South America voyages are aboard Le Soléal and Le Boréal, where experts, historians and well-known lecturers will add insights to the destinations in Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Colombia, Panama, Ecuador, Peru, Chile and Argentina.

A special guest aboard Le Soléal's Nov. 5 Montevideo-Ushuaia voyage, 15 days, is French sailing champion Olivier de Kersauson. The ship will reposition to Montevideo via a 21-day trans-Atlantic cruise from Marseille, sailing Oct. 16. Passengers who book the Nov. 5 cruise can take the Oct. 16 repositioning voyage at no charge.
