Queen Victoria at anchor near Newhaven harbour, Edinburgh
Forth Ports Cruise welcomed Cunard’s Queen Victoria to its new cruise ship anchorage near Newhaven Harbour, Edinburgh.

With over 1,800 passengers on board, the ship called into the River Forth on Sunday for a visit to Scotland’s capital city as part of a UK cruise.

The vessel was successfully anchored in deep water off Newhaven in the morning and over 1,500 passengers travelled the short distance on in tenders into the harbour which is close to Edinburgh’s city centre.

This inaugural call to the new anchorage point in the Forth is part of Forth Ports’ Cruise programme of identifying alternative deep water anchorage options and landing stages to bring larger ships closer to Scotland’s capital.
