Starting in July, The Smithsonian Collection by Smithsonian Journeys will be available on a majority of sailings, with more than 80 voyages scheduled across the fleet for the 2015/16 season, and featured on itineraries throughout the world, including South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Caribbean.
For nearly 170 years, the Smithsonian Institution, the world’s largest museum and research complex, has been recognized as an icon within academic communities.
Regent Seven Seas president and coo Jason Montague said this partnership gives cruisers access to some of the most authoritative thought leaders in the world, to provide deeper insights into the history, art, culture and politics of the destinations visited.
Organized by Smithsonian Journeys, a leader in cultural and enrichment travel, the series is designed to be interactive, encouraging passengers to not only attend the talks, but also to participate in question and answer sessions. Several more intimate opportunities with the presenter will be available so people can connect on a personal level in a social setting.
Passengers looking to more fully immerse themselves in the destination can opt for shore excursions escorted by The Smithsonian Collection by Smithsonian Journeys lecturers.
