Seabourn offers free newspapers on mobile devices
Seabourn is offering free, full editions of global newspapers and magazines from a selection of more than 2,500 that passengers can download on personal iOS or Android mobile devices while in port or at sea.

The publications are made available through PressReader Offline, a customizable digital newspaper and magazine service.

The PressReader app supplies newspapers and magazines in their entirety, including all printed sections and even advertising. Seabourn ships will download the requested content daily, and store it on the ships' local network, so passengers can access their choice without going online.

Cruisers can download the app in advance or while they are on board. In addition, each ship will make available a small supply of tablets with PressReader already downloaded for use by passengers who do not carry personal mobile devices.

A recent PressReader survey about consumer reading habits found more than half of US adults own a tablet and are reading their news on a mobile device.

PressReader Offline technology offers a customizable solution to businesses that don't have continuous access to a broadband network, such as an airline's in-flight entertainment system or on cruise ships. Businesses customize their library of publications on a designated offline server and make them available to their customers via the local Wi-Fi.
