SeaDream crew lead 'shoreside casuals' in the Caribbean

SeaDream crew lead 'shoreside casuals' in the Caribbean
SeaDream Yacht Club's complimentary, crew-led excursions for the 2014/15 Caribbean season include mountain biking and hiking. Known as 'shoreside casuals' among past passengers, the tours go to crew members' favorite spots in the islands.

SeaDream's 1:1 crew-to-guest ratio and casual elegance on board SeaDream I and SeaDream II afford the flexibility to explore where large ships and formal tours seldom venture. Plus, the shoreside casuals exemplify the yachting experience SeaDream offers.

Using 10 mountain bikes on board each vessel, passengers can bike to the secluded beaches including Flamenco Beach in Culebra and the intimate coves in Esperanza and Shoal Bay in Anguilla. Visits to nature preserves like the Turtle Sanctuary in Bequia and watching the dolphins at Soper’s Hole are led by crew.

For the most ambitious, one tour circumnavigates the island of Nevis and another involves mountain biking to the bottom of Saba.

One of the shoreside casuals, a hike on the tiny nature island of Culebrita visits a wildlife refuge located approximately one mile east of Culebra. Led by a knowledgeable crew member, participants will hike to the only remaining Spanish-era structure in the Culebra archipelago, and the only permanent structure on the island. After taking in the views, they will head to Playa Tortuga, a beach named for the many sea turtles that  breed there.

Other crew-led excursions include a walk through Old San Juan to El Morro Fortress.

In addition, SeaDream I and SeaDream II are equipped with wave runners, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and other watersports equipment. All can be launched directly from the yachts’ Marina.
