Silversea drops Yalta, Sevastopol, Odessa from 4 Black Sea cruises

Silversea Cruises
Silver Spirit - three cruises revised, along with one Silver Cloud sailing
Citing the continued unrest in Ukraine, Silversea Cruises modified the itineraries of four Black Sea sailings that were scheduled to call at Yalta, Sevastopol or Odessa this year.

Silver Spirit's July 21 seven-day cruise will remain entirely a Black Sea itinerary with Turkey's Trabzon replacing Odessa, while three new nine-day voyages will focus on destinations in Greece and Turkey, and also retain the original Black Sea ports of Constanza and Nessebur. Plus, the new nine-day voyages, Silver Cloud's Oct. 13 sailing and Silver Spirit's voyages of Aug, 20 and Sept. 29, have been enhanced.

The new itineraries 'eliminate the uncertainty surrounding Ukraine, while providing our guests with peace of mind and attractive destinations,' said Kristian Anderson, Silversea's svp and general manager for the Americas.

From Constanza, passengers are offered a complimentary full-day 'Silversea Experience' in Bucharest. Highlights include a scenic drive through Romania's countryside, a Romanian-style lunch and tour of the capital city's Palace of Parliament, Patriarchal Hill, open-air Village Museum and Revolution Square. Alternatively, passengers may opt for a $200 per person on-board credit.

Silver Spirit's revised July 21-28 cruise, round-trip Istanbul, will now call at Sochi, Trabzon, Sinop, Constanza and Nessebur.

The ship's Aug. 20-29 cruise, also round-trip Istanbul, will now visit Kavala, Thessaloniki, Volos (gateway to the rock towers and monasteries of Meteora), Piraeus, Izmir, Constanza and Nessebur, with passage through the Dardanelles and Bosphorus. An added perk is the choice of the Bucharest experience or the $200 per person on-board credit.

Silver Spirit's Sept. 29-Oct. 8 Istanbul round-trip will now visit Myrina (Limnos), Thessaloniki, Skiathos, Piraeus, Izmir, Constanza and Nessebur, with passage through the Dardanelles and Bosphorus. The Bucharest program or the $200 per person on-board credit apply.

And the revised itinerary for Silver Cloud's Oct. 13-22 round-trip Istanbul cruise is Kavala, Thessaloniki, Volos, Piraeus, Izmir, Constanza and Nessebur, plus passage through the Dardanelles and Bosphorus. Again, the Bucharest experience or the $200 per person on-board credit apply.
