Silversea to host Buccellati jewelry exhibition

Silversea to host Buccellati jewelry exhibition
Luca Buccellati of the Buccellati jewelers family is scheduled to join Silver Cloud's Oct. 13 cruise to present a rare jewelry exhibition.

Sharing in Silversea Cruises' Italian heritage, the Buccellati family opened their first boutique in Milan nearly a century ago.

Buccellati creations have been exhibited at such prestigious galleries as the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto and Washington's Smithsonian Institution National Museum, so it's an honor for Silversea to present the collection and have a member of the Buccellati family on board, according to Cristina Levis, the cruise line's head of business development.

During this nine-day eastern Mediterranean cruise, Silversea passengers will be able to attend lectures and view displays of rare jewelry pieces. They also will have the opportunity to design their own piece of jewelry with a member of the Buccellati family.

The voyage sails round-trip Istanbul with calls at Kavala, Thessaloniki, Volos (gateway to the rock towers and monasteries of Meteora), Piraeus, Izmir, Constanza and Nessebur, and includes passage through the Dardanelles and Bosphorus.

Silver Privilege fares start at $4,650 per person.
