Windstar lays out 2016, from Montserrat to 'round Iceland
Windstar Cruises' 2016 program features 11 new voyages and 30 new ports including the line's first sailings from San Juan, Puerto Rico. The itinerary includes Little Bay, Montserrat, where Windstar will be the first line to make regular calls since the 1995 eruption of the Soufriere Hills volcano that buried the island’s capital city.

Windstar will also be offering a selection of voyages that highlight the Caribbean's ABC Islands. And, in Europe, a seven-day circumnavigation of Iceland is featured.

All itineraries feature a complimentary Private Event, created exclusively for Windstar. Examples are a concert at the Blue Church in Seydisfjordur, Iceland, and dining on typical Catalán tapas at the Roman amphitheater of Tarragona in Spain.

'San Juan & the Virgin Islands' is a week-long cruise round-trip from Old San Juan to the Virgin Islands with Puerto Rico's Isla Culebra and the call at Montserrat among the highlights. A 10-day itinerary from San Juan visits nine ports in the eastern Caribbean and overnights at Virgin Gorda.

Another seven-day itinerary, between from Bridgetown, Barbados, and Oranjestad, Aruba, visits Bonaire and Curaçao, while a 14-day cruise from Aruba to Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica, via the Panama Canal, stops at Cartagena, Colombia. A southern Caribbean sailing from Colón, Panama, goes to Colombia and the ABC islands, ending in Aruba.

New Central America cruises include a nature-focused seven-day Costa Rica itinerary with a stop at Quepos to visit Manuel Antonio National Park and a visit to Nicaragua.

In northern Europe, the new 'Around Iceland' voyage, round-trip Reykjavik, has an overnight in Seydisfjordur and a stop at Akureyri. An 11-day 'Lands of the Midnight Sun' sailing includes the Norwegian Fjords, Iceland, Scotland and the Faroe Islands. It sails from Dublin, Ireland, to Reykjavik and includes a stop at Molde, Norway.

New in the Mediterranean is an eight-day voyage focused on southern Spain and Morocco that sails between Lisbon and Barcelona. Among the ports are Ibiza and Tarragona.

In addition to the new itineraries, Windstar will continue to operate year-round in Tahiti with two voyages, 'Dreams of Tahiti' and 'Tahiti & the Tuamotu Islands.' And popular Italy and Greece routes are reprised in 2016, such as 'Classic Italy & Dalmatian Coast' and 'Greek Isles & Turkish Delights.'
