AIDAcara, sailing a series of South American itineraries out of Argentina and Brazil through to March 2014, underwent a 13 day dry dock in Bremerhaven prior to crossing the Atlantic.

Marine outfitting and refurbishment specialist, Blu Marine Ltd, secured its first contract from AIDA Cruises which included creating a Teen’s area in an existing section of the two tier theatre which can also converted into a conference room.

The modular bulkhead system and steel stairs were designed and prefabricated in house to ensure easy and efficient installation.  The scope of works also included new banquette sofas, specially designed and fabricated television units, feature lighting, and new flooring and signage.

Blu Marine has offices in Southampton and Northern Ireland and has been completing turn key projects for cruise lines and ferry companies since it was established in 2007.

Speaking after the handover of the completed project, managing director, Craig McCoo, said; ‘We are naturally delighted to work with AIDA Cruises.  The award of this contract clearly illustrates the confidence our clients have in our ability to deliver high quality projects on time and on budget, and we look forward to further developing our relationship with AIDA in the future.’
