Carnival Triumph heads to Freeport dock, will get Fun Ship 2.0 features
Carnival Triumph was scheduled to depart Mobile, Ala., Wednesday afternoon under its own power for Grand Bahama Shipyard where final repairs and operating enhancements will be completed. Plus, Carnival Cruise Lines announced it is adding Fun Ship 2.0 features.

The ship is expected to arrive at Freeport on Saturday. Following the drydock, Carnival Triumph is to resume regular ervice from Galveston on June 13.

Carnival president and ceo Gerry Cahill said the ship being out of service provided the opportunity to add features of the Fun Ship 2.0 program. Those include a  Guy’s Burger Joint, BlueIguana Cantina, Alchemy Bar, EA SPORTS Bar, RedFrog Rum Bar and BlueIguana Tequila Bar.

In addition, as part of a $300m fleetwide program announced in April, Carnival Triumph is being outfitted with new systems to improve operating reliability to further prevent a potential loss of primary power, an upgrade in fire detection and suppression systems, and, in the event of main power loss, additional emergency backup power to provide core hotel services.
