New dining venues and lounges, 124 new balconies, remodeled staterooms and upgraded technology throughout are some of the elements showcased in an online video that covers Splendour of the Seas’ revitalization. Eye-catching footage of the new Centrum aerial shows is included.

The $35m, five-week project was carried out late last year at the Navantia shipyard in Cadiz, Spain, and Splendour is in seasonal service from Santos, Brazil.

From mid-February Splendour of the Seas will become the first cruise ship to provide iPads in all staterooms. Other features added include ship-wide Wi-Fi, a digital way-finding system, electronic mustering and an outdoor cinema screen.

The Centrum was transformed into an entertainment venue. offering a range of daytime activities, nightly entertainment and aerial performers. And the Centrum’s Champagne Bar was transformed into the R Bar with a sophisticated 1960s vibe, and signature cocktails.

The video, with commentary from Frank Weber, vp food and beverage operation, and a host of other Royal Caribbean International executives shipboard and shoreside, is at http://youtu.be/lTbayWbI1lc.
