Seabourn Quest sails from T.Mariotti Shipyard with new Penthouse Spa Suites

Seabourn Quest sails from T.Mariotti Shipyard with new Penthouse Spa Suites
Seabourn Quest sailed from T. Mariotti shipyard having undergone a scheduled drydock which saw the addition of new Penthouse Spa Suites plus some modification to accommodate zodiac landings for the upcoming Antarctica programme.

Marco Bisagno, chairman of T.Mariotti and Genova Industrie Navali holding said the work undertaken provided the opportunity ‘to renew the team spirit between Seabourn and T.Mariotti’, where the vessel was built in 2011 as the third sistership added to the Seabourn fleet.

Richard Meadows, president of Seabourn, noted: ‘We were pleased to return Seabourn Quest to Mariotti to ensure that our new Penthouse Spa Suites reflect the same fine craftsmanship and attention to detail that have been hallmarks of all three Odyssey-class vessels.’

The four new Penthouse Spa suites of 48-50sq mtr with 16sq mtr balconies are located directly above the spa overlooking the stern of the ship and were designed in co-operation with Gerolamo Scorza for the interiors and Ortec for the electrical plant.

The suites’ décor is coordinated with the Spa and all feature a living and a dining area with seating for four, a separate bedroom, walk-in closet, floor-to-ceiling windows and glass doors onto the veranda, a bathroom with a hot tub and spa shower, and two flat-screen TVs.

In addition, the ship’s marina was refitted to accommodate four Zodiac inflatables that will be used in Seabourn’s upcoming Antarctica cruises. Two new additional cranes were fitted on deck 6.

Additional work included general upgrades and additions to the crew accommodation that have already been introduced on Seabourn Odyssey and Seabourn Sojourn plus the installation of a new water ballast treatment system and minor mechanical and piping works in the engine room.

During the drydock, approximately 400 Genoa-based subcontractors were on board to perform the work.
