Under construction at Fincantieri’s Monfalcone shipyard, Mein Schiff Relax is due for delivery in 2025. A sister ship will follow in 2026.
‘This ship is something very special for us - it embodies the further development of everything that we have stood for with our new ships in the Mein Schiff fleet for almost 10 years,’ remarked Wybcke Meier, CEO of TUI Cruises.
‘That's why we our took time on the creation of the ship - together with all the great new opportunities for our guests – which were carefully considered,’ she added.
Feel-good experience
'It is clear to TUI Cruises that the new addition to the fleet can only have one name: Mein Schiff Relax. That is exactly what the first ship of the InTUItion class is: a completely new feel-good experience,' Meier said.
In addition to an extensive spa and wellness area, expansive, connected outdoor decks offer plenty of space, and a roof over parts of the 25mtr long pool will provide shade for bathers. At the aft is a terraced sun deck with infinity pool.
Restaurants will include the French Sur Mer Bistro and a Greek taverna, Dionysos, with outdoor and indoor areas.
The trademark high proportion of balcony cabins across the Mein Schiff fleet is increased again on Mein Schiff Relax to 85%.
Solo travellers
Inside and outside single cabins, which will appear for the first time for TUI Cruises on Mein Schiff 7, due for from Meyer Turku next year, will also be on Relax but expanded to include solo balcony cabins. Another new feature for the brand and on Relax: forward cabins with balconies designated as non-smoking.
Also new are two large Freedom Suites of 88sq mtr spread over two decks with a balcony on each deck, two bedrooms, a sauna and large sea-facing windows. Each suite sleeps up to six guests.
West Med debut
Mein Schiff Relax will sail seven- to 10-day cruises in the western Mediterranean from Palma, Mallorca with calls in Spain, Italy, France, Portugal and Morocco. Ports in the ship’s maiden summer season include Civitavecchia (Rome), La Spezia, Naples, Sardinia and Sicily in Italy; Valencia, Barcelona, Málaga and Cádiz in Spain, Marseille and Cannes in France and Lisbon, Portugal.
On some trips, the Moroccan port of Tangier will feature and, on others, an overnight stay at Palma de Mallorca.
