Revitalised Serenade of the Seas emerges from Navantia
Royal Caribbean International’s Serenade of the Seas emerged from its three-week $29m drydock at Navantia Shipyard in Cadiz, Spain, with a host of new dining concepts, entertainment options and technology advancements originally introduced on board the Oasis-class ships.

Serenade of the Seas, a Radiance-class ship, is the eighth vessel to undergo the work since the line announced an extensive revitalisation program in 2011.

Serenade of the Seas now sports nearly double the dining options with the addition of five signature concepts including Italian trattoria Giovanni’s Table, Izumi Asian Cuisine, indoor/outdoor gourmet market Park Café, casual restaurant Rita’s Cantina and Chef’s Table, an exclusive and private experience co-hosted by the executive chef and sommelier for a wine pairing dinner of five courses ($95 per person).

As part of Serenade of the Seas’ revitalisation, the Centrum – the focal point of the ship – was transformed with the addition of the 1960s-inspired R Bar as well as entertainment experiences such as aerial acrobats.

In addition, the ship features a new Concierge Club for suite guests, a Diamond Club for Crown & Anchor Society loyalty program members, the Crown and Castle Pub and the Royal Babies and Tots Nursery.

Serenade of the Seas is offering Mediterranean itineraries from January before moving to Dubai for a series of seven-night sailings from February through mid-April before returning to Barcelona for 12-night sailings visiting Venice and Greece. In November 2013, she will return to North America and sail seasonally from New Orleans offering seven- and nine-night Caribbean and Bahamas itineraries.
